The UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) outlined statutory conditions under Article 45 of the UAE Labour Law permitting employees to resign immediately without serving notice. An employee may leave without notice if an employer commits a contractual breach, provided MoHRE was formally notified 14 days earlier and the violation remained unaddressed. Immediate resignation is also authorised if an employee experiences workplace assault reported within five working days, faces severe unaddressed safety hazards, or is assigned fundamentally different duties without mutual consent. Employees departing under these qualifying conditions retain full statutory end-of-service entitlements.
In parallel, MoHRE, the UAE Competitiveness Council's Nafis programme, and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) outlined an Emiratisation initiative linking training, financial support, and private school placements. Strategic hiring commitments were signed with private education providers, including Taaleem for more than 200 Emirati teachers, SABIS for more than 150, GEMS Education for more than 120, International Community Schools for more than 77, and Liwa Education for more than 61.
The initial phase focuses on recruitment for social studies, Arabic language, and Islamic education. Under the Nafis-linked Teachers programme, eligible participants in the Teacher and Assistant Teacher tracks can receive monthly financial incentives of up to Dh4,000 throughout their training.
Training pathways include the Medad introductory programme and the 'Be a Teacher' postgraduate qualification track. The initiative is based on the Abu Dhabi Educators Competency Framework developed with the Emirates College for Educational Development, structured around six core professional competencies and values.
