Chinese flying car manufacturer Aridge is preparing to test its aircraft in Ras Al Khaimah as early as 2027, according to a report by Wake Up Singapore. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, unveiled the first X3-F aircraft designated for the emirate's advanced air mobility testing programme during a visit to Aridge's factory in Guangzhou, China.
Footage showed Sheikh Saud touring the production line alongside Aridge founder Zhao Deli as workers assembled the vehicles. The aircraft forms part of the 'Land Aircraft Carrier' system, which combines a six-wheeled ground vehicle with a detachable electric aircraft, allowing users to drive to a launch site before transitioning to flight.
Aridge and the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority have agreed to establish a regulatory testing programme. The arrangement allows the aircraft to undergo local trials while authorities formulate operational regulations. Aridge is targeting initial UAE tests as early as 2027, with potential commercial deliveries later that year, depending on certification and regulatory clearances.
Esmaeel Hassan Esmaeel Al Blooshi, director general of the Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority, indicated that the emirate is well positioned to help emerging transport technologies transition into practical commercial applications.
