Freelander, a premium all-terrain automotive venture established by China's Chery and Jaguar Land Rover, marked its global premiere on September 29, 2026, at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental in Abu Dhabi.

The United Arab Emirates was selected as the brand's first international launch destination outside China, following an initial domestic unveiling on September 3, 2026.

According to the report, the partnership integrates British vehicle styling with Chery's intelligent electrified vehicle architecture and supply chain network.

Following its market rollout in the UAE, the joint venture plans to introduce its flagship Freelander 8 SUV into Australia and New Zealand in 2027.
