UAE legal consultancy Ape Law, co-founded by Victoria Wells and Stephan Roberto, announced an update to its public UAE Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) Licence Tracker on September 29, 2026. According to the firm, it reviews official regulator records on a weekly basis to help founders and compliance teams verify virtual-asset licensing claims.

At the time of the announcement, the tracker contained 116 authorisations for 115 distinct entities and 207 permission lines across five UAE regulatory frameworks, based on public records collected on September 27, 2026. Ape Law stated that users can search records by company name, website, or activity, and open direct links to official regulatory entries to confirm current licensing status.

The tracker covers five distinct regulatory authorities across the UAE: Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), the UAE Capital Market Authority (CMA), and the Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE).

Ape Law noted that it marks an authorisation as active only where the regulator expressly confirms that status, rather than assuming unstated statuses or license dates. The firm clarified that it is not affiliated with the regulators and that the tracker serves as a research starting point rather than legal advice or formal regulatory confirmation.
