Yicai Global, the English-language news service of Shanghai Media Group's financial media arm Yicai Media Group, announced a 10-year international development plan at an event marking its 10th anniversary in Shanghai. The initiative, designated the MAPS strategy, targets the establishment of a global financial media and business services platform by 2035.
According to the announcement, the MAPS strategy is structured across four operational pillars: Matrix, Artificial Intelligence, Pivot, and Service. Under the Matrix pillar, the outlet plans to expand beyond English reporting by gradually introducing Arabic, French, Spanish, and other languages, alongside establishing regional content hubs across Europe, the Americas, and Asia to create a multi-time-zone news-gathering network.
Under the AI and Pivot pillars, Yicai Global stated it will build a proprietary intelligent content platform to deploy artificial intelligence across topic planning, translation, data analysis, and targeted distribution. The organization also plans to integrate insights from international thought leaders, financial institutions, global media, and corporate entities into its editorial ecosystem.
Through the Service pillar, the media group plans to offer cross-border expansion support for Chinese enterprises venturing overseas and foreign firms expanding into China. In partnership with external organizations, Yicai Global aims to combine brand communication, research, consulting, business events, and resource matchmaking.
