UAE-based powder coatings manufacturer Qemtex announced that its factory in Umm Al Quwain has reached full production capacity less than two years after operations began, according to a Gulf News report. The company attributed the quick ramp-up to strong product demand originating from real estate and infrastructure projects across the GCC.
Qemtex is now evaluating an investment of up to Dh40 million to add manufacturing capacity, upgrade equipment, and enhance its technical capabilities. The potential capital expenditure aligns with national manufacturing goals outlined in the UAE's Operation 300bn industrial strategy and the Make it in the Emirates initiative.
The review comes against a backdrop of steady construction growth in the region. Data from the Dubai Land Department cited in the report showed 937 real estate projects under construction in Dubai in 2025, representing a 25 percent increase from the preceding year. In addition to local supply, Qemtex distributes products across the GCC, Middle East, and Africa, supported by an in-house research centre tailoring coatings to extreme regional heat and humidity.
Qemtex Chief Executive Officer Chingiz Ibragimov said any expansion will be guided by market demand and long-term commitments to building sustainable UAE manufacturing operations. The company stated that the final scope, expenditure amount, and rollout timeline will be announced once plans are finalized.
