A new crude oil pipeline being built by the United Arab Emirates to bypass the Strait of Hormuz is now 50% complete, according to ADNOC CEO Sultan Al Jaber. The West-East Pipeline project connects domestic oil fields to the port of Fujairah to double export capacity through the port by 2027. Construction is being accelerated following directives from Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed.

A new crude oil pipeline being built by the United Arab Emirates to bypass the Strait of Hormuz is now approximately 50% complete, ADNOC Chief Executive Sultan Al Jaber announced. The UAE began construction on the pipeline in 2025.

Known as the West-East Pipeline project, the link connects oil fields to the port of Fujairah on the Gulf of Oman coast. Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed directed ADNOC to accelerate construction to double the country's oil export capacity through Fujairah by 2027.

The project supplements the existing Abu Dhabi Crude Oil Pipeline (ADCOP), which also terminates in Fujairah and has an operational transport capacity of up to 1.8 million barrels per day. Al Jaber noted that the infrastructure expansion addresses long-standing vulnerabilities associated with maritime energy transit chokepoints.
