A three-month international law enforcement campaign led by the UAE Ministry of Interior identified more than $39 billion in funds and cryptocurrencies tied to fraudulent schemes, FinanceFeeds reported. The initiative, designated Operation Confrontation Ghost, ran from July 1 to September 30, 2026, targeting artificial intelligence-powered scams, digital financial fraud, and online sextortion.

The operation coordinated law enforcement agencies across 30 countries on five continents—including the UAE, China, Canada, Singapore, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines—alongside INTERPOL, the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, and 13 private sector firms such as Huawei, Mastercard, Meta, TikTok, and Crypto.com. Authorities exchanged more than 9,000 intelligence items to track illicit cross-border money flows.

According to official figures, the enforcement push resulted in more than 960 arrests, raids on 29 fraud centers, and the identification of over 3,500 suspects and 15,500 victims globally. In addition, authorities shut down over 570 social media accounts, identified 4,126 fraud-linked bank accounts, and thwarted approximately 123.71 million digital fraud attempts.

FinanceFeeds noted that the $39 billion represents an identified tally rather than funds seized or recovered. Participating governments, judicial jurisdictions, and private corporate partners are currently coordinating asset recovery processes.
