UAE Highlights Industrial Ecosystem and Invites Chinese Partnerships at Shanghai Trade Fair

A senior United Arab Emirates delegation led by Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), attended the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) 2026 in Shanghai, running from 12 to 16 October, according to official reports.

The delegation included officials and representatives from MoIAT alongside key UAE public and private entities, including Emirates Development Bank, Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), EDGE Group, Emirates Global Aluminium, and Aldar.

According to the delegation, the mission focused on expanding bilateral cooperation across industrial, technological, and investment fields, with an emphasis on priority sectors, smart manufacturing, and technology transfer. Delegates conducted exhibition tours, executive meetings with Chinese companies, and site visits centered on automation and robotics.

UAE representatives highlighted the country's competitive industrial environment and positioning as a regional operational hub, inviting Chinese industrial firms to establish manufacturing partnerships and scale regional expansion through the Emirates.

UAE and China Deepen Commercial Ties Across Sharjah and Dubai Partnerships

Sharjah leadership met with Chinese diplomats on 12 October 2026 to discuss partnerships in artificial intelligence, healthcare, data centres, and automotive manufacturing. Bilateral trade between Sharjah and China reached approximately AED 6.3 billion in 2025, with 851 Chinese enterprises operating in the emirate as of June 2026. Separately, Dubai recorded non-oil trade of AED 363.5 billion with China in 2025 ahead of the Dubai Business Forum in Shenzhen.
