The visa category is established for individuals intending to enrol in licensed universities, educational institutes, or research entities within the country.
To be eligible, applicants must present an international passport that remains valid for at least six months at the time of application. The visa is tied directly to UAE-licensed academic and research bodies, meaning the admitting institution must hold official recognition and licensing from relevant UAE authorities.
Under entry permit regulations, once the entry permit is issued, the applicant has a 60-day window to enter the UAE. If the individual does not travel within that period, the permit lapses, though the validity can be extended for a similar duration subject to applicable rules and official procedures.
Processing the visa incurs three separate mandatory fees totalling 300 AED: an application fee of 100 AED, a visit visa issuance fee of 100 AED, and a smart service fee of 100 AED. Prospective students and researchers are advised to confirm that their host institution is fully accredited and licensed in the UAE before submitting their applications.
