The UAE has concluded its participation in the China International Industry Fair 2026 in Shanghai, with discussions centred on industrial technology, smart manufacturing, automation, robotics, and investment opportunities. The UAE delegation was led by Hasan Jasem Al Nowais, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT), alongside representatives from Abu Dhabi Investment Office, Mubadala, Emirates Development Bank, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone, Emirates Global Aluminium, EDGE Group, and Aldar.
During the visit, the delegation met with robotics and smart manufacturing companies, including HIKROBOT, ESTUN, HollySys, Inovance, ABB Robotics, and Mech-Mind Robotics. Talks focused on potential pilot automation projects within UAE factories, assembly, maintenance and distribution services, and regional expansion pathways.
The delegation also conducted site visits to ABB Robotics, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), SAIC Motor, GCL, ROX Motor, AgiBot, and SEVNCE Robotics. These meetings explored cooperation in industrial robotics, aviation supply chains, electric vehicle assembly, clean-industry materials, humanoid robotics, and inspection systems for industrial and energy facilities.
According to MoIAT, the engagements build on international initiatives such as Factory Forward UAE, following similar recent industrial outreach in Japan. The ministry stated that these partnerships could accelerate the transition to smart manufacturing, boosting factory efficiency, quality, and productivity across the UAE.
