UAE Advances International Judicial Cooperation on Asset Recovery and Rule of Law

UAE Minister of Justice and Chairman of the Federal Judicial Council, Abdullah Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, stated that the UAE has established an integrated system for international judicial cooperation. The remarks were delivered during a session titled "Strengthening International Judicial Cooperation: The UAE Experience and Global Partnerships" at the high-level segment of the 15th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice in Abu Dhabi.

According to Al Nuaimi, the framework incorporates robust legal frameworks, direct international partnerships, rapid response mechanisms, and digital transformation. He stated that the primary objective is to prevent national borders from being exploited to shield criminals, evidence, or illicit assets.

The Minister emphasized that transnational crime requires coordinated cross-border action, as illicit funds and perpetrators frequently move across multiple jurisdictions. He highlighted that the UAE's approach ensures the proceeds of crime are systematically traced, frozen, seized, and recovered through sound judicial procedures that uphold the rule of law.

Al Nuaimi added that the UAE is actively strengthening direct communication with central judicial authorities globally to make international cooperation swifter and more practical, while building long-term institutional partnerships.
