Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, approved the strategy and operating budget of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA) on Sunday following its inaugural board meeting.

According to official statements, the strategy aims to contribute more than Dh35 billion ($9.53 billion) to Dubai's economy over the next decade, projecting an annual sector growth rate of around 31 percent. The approvals transition the DLA from its foundational stage into operational implementation under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Dubai Social Agenda 33.

The DLA was formally created under Law No. (17) of 2026 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. The body acts as a dedicated regulator for the Longevity, Wellness and Advanced Health (LWAH) sector, overseeing research and development, clinical trials, manufacturing, and commercial healthcare delivery.

Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Chairman of the DLA, stated that the entity has structured its governance framework and launched a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) programme. The controlled environment allows selected innovators to test and scale advanced health therapies under regulatory supervision.
