The 28th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) opened on October 20, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Organised by the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the three-day exhibition brings together international companies to showcase innovations addressing energy, water management, and sustainability challenges.

More than 130 Chinese enterprises are participating within a dedicated China Pavilion. Chinese manufacturers, including Anhui Chero Technology and Fumatech Technology, are demonstrating technologies in water filtration membranes, zero-liquid-discharge systems, and advanced energy storage aimed at supporting net-zero energy transitions.

Anhui Chero Technology highlighted sediment and activated-carbon filter cartridges, reverse-osmosis membrane housings, and customised filtration systems. Fumatech Technology presented sustainable membrane technologies including nanofiltration, ultrafiltration, desalination, and systems designed to minimise liquid waste via recycling.

Global exhibitors at the event include German firm ALGATEC, presenting battery technology achieving an energy density of up to 1,000 watt-hours per kilogram, and Japan's Toray, displaying reverse osmosis and membrane bioreactors. The Abdul Wahid Al Rostamani Group also introduced its VerraPak packaging brand in the UAE.

Organisers noted that the strong Chinese commercial presence aligns with strategic initiatives to expand annual trade between China and the UAE toward the target of $200 billion by 2030.
