Egypt Airspace Absorbs Rerouted Middle East Traffic Amid Regional Flight Disruption
Regional airspace restrictions are redirecting international flights through Egypt, resulting in increased overflight and diversion traffic across the Cairo Flight Information Region. Aviation operations group OPSGROUP noted primary Europe-Asia bypass paths continue routing south via Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Oman or the UAE, while Kuwait remains closed to normal overflights. EASA maintains active conflict-zone advisories in parts of the Middle East and recorded recent GNSS interference affecting Egyptian airspace.
