UAE Port Delays Deepen as Khor Fakkan and Sharjah Face Growing Backlogs
Logistics group Kuehne+Nagel reports that port congestion across the UAE has intensified, causing significant operational delays at Khor Fakkan and Sharjah. Average vessel waiting times at Khor Fakkan reached 7.25 days as of October 30, 2026, while inland terminal transfer times to major UAE hubs have lengthened from five days to between 12 and 15 days. Kuehne+Nagel expects congestion to worsen in the coming weeks due to strong regional import demand and precautionary inventory building.
