Wizz Air has delayed the restart of several European routes to Abu Dhabi from late October to January 10, 2027, following updated guidelines from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The carrier said ongoing Iraqi airspace closures require longer detours and refuelling stops for its A321neo aircraft, making flights commercially unviable at current fuel prices. In addition, services to Jordan have been suspended until October 25, 2026, after Jordanian airspace was placed on EASA's conflict zone restricted list.
The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority announced an immediate suspension of all flights operated by Iranian airlines to and from the country. The aviation regulator stated the measure complies with global US sanctions prohibiting Iranian carriers from accessing foreign airports.
Investigations into an incident aboard a Flydubai flight bound for Tel Aviv concluded that the co-pilot attempted to carry out a terrorist act, according to UAE Attorney-General Hamad Saif Al Shamsi. The co-pilot attacked the captain with a crash axe inside the cockpit before crew members intervened. The aircraft diverted safely to Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, and Flydubai has suspended flights to and from Israel.
Philippine Airlines announced it will resume nonstop passenger services between Manila and Dubai on October 2, 2026. The route had been suspended for months due to military strikes and regional airspace hazards. Flights will initially run four times per week.
