The push forms part of Saudi Arabia's plan to direct over $800 billion into its tourism sector to diversify its economy away from hydrocarbons. Officials from both sides confirmed commitments to expand cooperation, direct travel links, and trade missions.
Saudi Arabia recorded a merchandise trade surplus of $3.8 billion according to official government figures. China remained the primary international destination for Saudi exports in July at 13.4 percent, while the UAE ranked second.
