Oman Air to Launch Daily Direct Flights Between Muscat and Abu Dhabi

Oman Air has announced the launch of a new direct daily service between Muscat and Abu Dhabi starting July 9. The route marks the Omani carrier's 49th destination globally and its tenth destination within the GCC. The service aims to bolster regional connectivity, passenger transit, tourism, and bilateral trade.

Oman Air announced a new direct flight service connecting Muscat and Abu Dhabi, scheduled to begin operations on July 9, according to The Bangladesh Monitor. The Omani national carrier stated that it will operate daily flights on the route, providing direct travel between the two capital cities as well as onward connection options via Abu Dhabi.

Abu Dhabi represents Oman Air's 49th global destination and its tenth destination within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The airline noted that the addition reflects its strategy to strengthen regional connectivity, tourism, trade, and cross-border investment.

Oman Air Chief Executive Con Korfiatis stated that Abu Dhabi is a natural addition to the carrier's network due to its standing as a regional business and travel hub. He noted that the new route strengthens the connectivity ecosystem supporting Oman and the wider GCC, while delivering long-term value and supporting Oman's broader economic goals.

The Abu Dhabi route follows a series of network additions by Oman Air this year, which included launching flights to Taif in January, as well as routes to Singapore, Tashkent, and Sochi. The carrier is also scheduled to introduce a direct service between Dubai and Salalah in July.
