The Ajman Free Zone has established a representative office in Shenzhen, China, to enhance investment cooperation and support commercial expansion. UAE Consul General H.E. Mariam Alshamsi and Free Zones Authority Director-General H.E. Ismail Al Naqi participated in the establishing ceremony.
The UAE Ministry of Health and Prevention has updated its sick leave procedures, transferring the responsibility of submitting attestation requests from patients to licensed hospitals and clinics. Under the revised framework, eligible requests will transition automatically to approval without requiring separate applications. The simplified process applies to federal employees and local government staff in Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah.
Slovenia-based electronic table game supplier Spintec has secured a federal gaming-related vendor licence from the UAE General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA). The company also completed supplier licensing with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario in Canada in partnership with distributor Bet Rite. The UAE approval permits Spintec to supply electronic gaming equipment and technology to GCGRA-licensed commercial operators.
The Central Bank of the UAE has introduced Central Bank Regulation No. 1/2026, creating a comprehensive framework for Islamic financial institutions and takaful operators. Implementing aspects of Federal Decree-Law No. 50/2022, the rules cover a wide array of Islamic financial contracts and structures.
