Dubai Gold Prices Set to End Week Lower on Rate Hike Concerns

In the UAE, 24-karat gold held at Dh514.25 per gram on Friday, representing a Dh40 drop over the past 28 days. Analysts noted that resilient Chinese demand and safe-haven buying continue to provide underlying support for the metal.

UAE Firm Cleared to Acquire MTML Stakes from Chinese Investors

The Competition Commission of Pakistan has approved the acquisition of shares in Masood Textile Mills Limited by UAE-based Velora Global Ventures from two Chinese investors. The transaction involves equity held by Shanghai Challenge Textile and Zhejiang Xinao Industry under a July 2026 agreement. Regulators concluded the Phase-I review found no adverse impact on market competition.

Saudi Central Bank Exits China-Backed mBridge Cross-Border Currency Platform

The Saudi Central Bank confirmed on September 22, 2026, that it has ended its formal participation in the mBridge cross-border digital currency platform.
