National banks in the UAE posted double-digit annual increases across key performance indicators in August 2026, according to Central Bank of the UAE data published by Voice of Emirates. National bank assets rose 13.6% year-on-year to exceed AED 5.15 trillion, while total credit expanded 19.2% to AED 2.663 trillion. Deposits at national banks increased 14.2% to AED 3.181 trillion over the same period.
UAE Presidential Special Envoy Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on October 13, 2026. The two officials reviewed bilateral ties under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership framework and discussed expanding cooperation in key sectors. Both sides reaffirmed commitments to broaden trade and investment opportunities and maintain regular diplomatic consultation.
A UAE delegation attended the China International Industry Fair 2026 in Shanghai to expand industrial partnerships and technology exchange. Led by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, officials presented national incentives to Chinese enterprises in artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and supply chains.
The UAE Ministry of Finance has issued Ministerial Decision No. 168 of 2026, revising accreditation rules for e-invoicing service providers. Businesses earning Dh50 million or more must appoint an accredited provider by October 30, 2026, ahead of the January 1, 2027 rollout. Service providers must now complete formal testing and readiness evaluations for direct accreditation.
