The Central Bank of the UAE has issued Circular No. 5/2026, introducing an updated governance and remuneration regime for banks and insurance firms. Regulated institutions must complete an internal gap analysis within 180 days and achieve full compliance within 15 months. The framework mandates stricter controls over risk-linked pay, incentive schemes, and annual compensation disclosures.
The UAE Ministry of Finance has eliminated preliminary approvals for e-invoicing service providers under Ministerial Decision No. 168 of 2026, effective October 1. Large companies with annual revenues of Dh50 million or more must appoint accredited providers by October 30, 2026, ahead of the January 1, 2027 launch.
UAE Presidential Special Envoy Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on October 13, 2026. The officials reviewed bilateral economic ties and agreed to expand cooperation in trade, investment, industrial development, and advanced technologies. The meeting was also attended by UAE Ambassador to China Hussain bin Ibrahim Al Hammadi alongside senior officials.
Under Ministerial Decision No. 168 of 2026, UAE businesses must ensure their e-invoicing vendors have completed full accreditation. The new decision took effect on October 1, 2026, replacing an interim framework, and requires companies with annual turnover of Dh50 million or more to contract an accredited partner by October 30, 2026.
