Artificial intelligence agents are actively being used to evaluate investment proposals at an unnamed Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, industry executives reported at the Sharjah Investment Forum 2026 (SIF 2026). Speaking on the panel 'Powering Adaptive Economies with Agentic AI,' Maria Sanchez, Senior Vice President of AI Product Delivery at G42 unit Inception, said the system is deployed to argue against investment proposals following months of deal preparation by human teams.

Sanchez stated that human professionals review the AI system's counter-arguments to identify any inaccuracies or inappropriate data usage before any final investment decisions are taken. The model ensures human accountability remains central to high-stakes capital allocation.

Beyond finance, the technology is also applied in procurement workflows ranging from initial purchase requests to contract awards. Sanchez explained that AI agents assist by checking budgets, preparing scopes of work, and proposing supplier evaluation criteria, with employees maintaining the authority to review and override automated recommendations.

Sanchez advised organisations to begin by automating reversible, low-risk processes to build operational confidence while ensuring systems maintain end-to-end traceability of agent actions. Rima Semaan, Chief Solutions Officer at Microsoft UAE, and panel moderator Kunal Devani, Partner at EY, discussed enterprise readiness, with Semaan urging companies to establish the infrastructure required to support a 'human-led, agent-operated' workforce.
