Mattress manufacturer King Koil convened its first international licensing summit in Shanghai, China, according to Home Furnishings Business. The summit, themed 'One King Koil – Stronger Together. Trusted Everywhere,' was hosted by AI Dream, the company's primary shareholder, and brought together over 40 executives from 17 licensee partners across five continents.
Among the participants was Sundar Rajan, managing director of Dubai Furniture Manufacturing Company, which has served as King Koil's licensee covering the Middle East for more than 30 years. Rajan stated that King Koil's evolution in the United States from a mass-market brand into the premium and ultra-premium categories has enhanced brand awareness and equity for all licensees.
King Koil Chief Executive Officer David Binke told attendees that the company's business restructuring has increased revenue, EBITDA, and brand awareness, outlining an objective to reach the top 10 bedding manufacturers globally. Executive Vice President of Innovation and Marketing David Long presented brand research, review of U.S. retail engagements, and future product innovations.
Participating licensee delegations included companies from the United Arab Emirates, Australia, South Korea, Malaysia, Israel, Brazil, Guatemala, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, India, Sri Lanka, the United States, and China. Attendees also took part in factory and retail tours in Shanghai.
