GT LINES, the container shipping division of UAE terminal operator Gulftainer, launched strategic shipping partnerships with Chinese carriers on November 5, 2026, according to a company announcement.

Under the upgraded Khorfakkan China Express Service (KCX 1), GT LINES is deploying two container vessels in a vessel sharing agreement alongside Chinese carriers Zhong Gu, Sea Legend, and Ningbo Ocean. Together, the carriers form a five-vessel consortium.

The KCX 1 route provides direct links from the Chinese ports of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, and Nansha to Khorfakkan Port in the UAE. Transit times are scheduled at 18 days from South China and 22 days from Central China to Khorfakkan.

Additionally, GT LINES partnered with CULines on the KCX 5 service, which connects Chinese ports and Malaysia's Port Klang directly to Khorfakkan Port.
