BRICS Deepens Clean-Tech, Critical Minerals, and Industrial Cooperation Across Asia

BRICS member economies, including China and the UAE, highlighted expanded cooperation in critical minerals, clean-tech manufacturing, and supply chains at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi. Discussions featured China's upcoming 2027 presidency priorities in smart manufacturing and AI, as well as a proposed $11.5 billion aluminium investment by the UAE's International Holding Company. The bloc's New Delhi Declaration called for greater developing-nation participation in advanced manufacturing and broader use of national currencies.

UAE Suspends Flights by Iranian Airlines Until Further Notice Following US Sanctions

The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority suspended all flights operated by Iranian carriers to and from UAE airports starting September 24, 2026, until further notice. The measure aligns with expanding United States aviation sanctions against Iranian airlines. International travelers and connecting flights face route modifications and longer travel times to avoid Iranian airspace.

DCT Abu Dhabi Partners With Trip.com and Qunar at Arabian Travel Market

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi signed and renewed over 20 trade and industry partnerships at Arabian Travel Market, Campaign Middle East reported. The agreements include multi-market initiatives with Chinese platforms Trip.com Group and Qunar to drive long-stay visitors and maximise tourism spending. Across nine joint marketing partnerships, the emirate is targeting 75,500 additional visitors over 12 to 18 months.
