Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) and Dubai Police implemented new regulatory restrictions on heavy freight movements effective October 1, 2026, impacting major commercial trade corridors across the emirate, Arabian Business reported.

The regulatory measures directly affect Dubai's commercial logistics operations, an industry handling approximately 400,000 truck movements on a daily basis.

Under the new rules, a 16-hour daily ban applies from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. along Sheikh Zayed Road and Beirut Street. Additionally, continuous 24-hour freight restrictions have been instituted on Al Qudra Street, Al Meydan Street, and the Airport Tunnel.

Freight and transport operators with essential transit requirements during the restricted periods are required to apply for special electronic mobility permits from the RTA. Emirates Road remains exempt from the restrictions.
