Retail diesel prices in Dubai have climbed to approximately ₹123 per litre as of October 22, exceeding the price of ₹95 per litre recorded in Delhi by about ₹28, according to reporting by Dainik Bhaskar. The price divergence follows an approximate 12% increase in UAE diesel rates introduced for the month of October.
Over the past eight months, UAE diesel prices have advanced by 90%, nearly doubling fuel costs in the Emirates. In the UAE, retail petrol and diesel rates are revised every month based on prevailing price movements in international energy markets.
The report attributed the broader rise in international prices to regional geopolitical conflict and ongoing supply uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz. It noted that global volatility directly filtered into the UAE's monthly domestic price formula.
The coverage also highlighted regional infrastructure incidents, including a drone strike and fire at Fujairah's oil export terminal that temporarily disrupted bunkering operations, as well as debris from intercepted missiles that led to operational pauses at Abu Dhabi's Habshan gas plant and the Bab oil field.
