Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, approved the strategy and operating budget for the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA), according to Gulf Today.

The approval followed the inaugural board meeting of the DLA, which operates under Sheikh Hamdan's presidency. The authority was established under Law No. (17) of 2026 by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to serve as a dedicated regulator for the Longevity, Wellness and Advanced Health sector.

The approved strategy aims to contribute more than Dh35 billion to Dubai's economy over the next decade and targets an annual sector growth rate of around 31 per cent. The DLA's mandate covers the entire longevity value chain, including research and development, clinical trials, manufacturing, delivery, and specialized clinics.

According to the authority, the DLA has established its governance model and designed a Minimum Viable Product programme. This controlled testing framework allows selected innovators to operate under regulatory supervision while advancing sector standards in alignment with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and Dubai Social Agenda 33.
