China and US Reveal Reciprocal Tariff Cut Lists Covering 60 Billion Dollars

China and the United States have published reciprocal tariff exemption schedules covering approximately $30 billion worth of goods in each direction following September trade talks. The combined $60 billion in trade covered under the arrangement directly impacts Gulf shipping and logistics supply chains. China and the United States have released reciprocal tariff exemption schedules covering approximately $30 billion (AED 110.2 billion) in goods in each direction following trade talks in September, Arabian Business reported.

The combined bilateral trade impacted under the agreement stands at roughly $60 billion (AED 220.4 billion), a development noted for directly impacting Gulf shipping and logistics supply chains.

Washington's tariff relief schedule includes 77 product lines centered on consumer appliances, toys, and household products. In turn, China's schedule encompasses 1,619 product lines, offering lower tariff treatment across agricultural and food commodities.

China's Ministry of Commerce confirmed that approximately 90 percent of the goods covered by both sides will shift to most favoured nation tariff rates.

China Enforces 20 Percent Tax on Offshore Trusts and Wealth Assets

Chinese authorities have intensified tax enforcement against wealthy individuals and offshore assets, levying a 20 percent tax on offshore trust gains and income. Taxpayers have been given a 90-day window ending October 22 to declare and settle liabilities dating back to January 2023. The drive follows declining local land-sale revenue and uses Common Reporting Standard information sharing.
