China and US Release Tariff Exemption Schedules Totaling Sixty Billion Dollars

China and the United States have unveiled reciprocal tariff exemption schedules covering approximately $30 billion (AED 110.2 billion) worth of goods in each direction, Arabian Business reported following bilateral trade discussions held in September.

Combined bilateral trade covered under the arrangement amounts to roughly $60 billion (AED 220.4 billion), which directly impacts Gulf shipping and logistics supply chains.

Washington's tariff relief schedule includes 77 product lines centered on consumer appliances, toys, and household goods. In return, China's schedule spans 1,619 product lines that provide lower tariff treatment for various agricultural and food commodities.

China's Ministry of Commerce confirmed that approximately 90 percent of the items covered under both schedules will transition to most favoured nation tariff rates.
