Hundreds of educators in Dubai's private early-childhood centres, schools, and higher-education institutions have qualified for long-term residency under a dedicated Golden Visa scheme, The National reported. Established under directives from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, the annual initiative grants 10-year visas to high-performing teachers, tutors, and academic leaders.
Since its launch on October 5, 2024, to coincide with World Teachers' Day, the visa scheme has attracted more than 835 applicants. The programme operates as part of Dubai's Education 33 strategy, which seeks to recruit and retain global academic talent to boost educational quality and regional competitiveness.
Eligible applicants must work in private educational institutions and undergo comprehensive evaluations. Assessments measure academic qualifications, contributions to the education sector and community, feedback from students and parents, and tangible impacts on learning quality and accredited student outcomes. Further application details are published on the Knowledge and Human Development Authority website.
