His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, approved the strategy and operating budget of the Dubai Longevity Authority (DLA) during the authority's inaugural board meeting. The decision transitions the entity from its administrative establishment phase to regulatory and operational implementation.

According to official statements reported by UAE media, the approved strategy targets an annual growth rate of approximately 31 percent and aims to contribute more than AED 35 billion to Dubai's economy over the next decade. The authority's mandate covers the longevity value chain, encompassing life sciences research, clinical trials, product manufacturing, and commercial delivery across the Longevity, Wellness and Advanced Health (LWAH) sector.

Established under Dubai Law No. (17) of 2026, the DLA operates under the presidency of Sheikh Hamdan and is chaired by Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism. The authority serves as a dedicated regulator designed to establish licensing standards and compliance frameworks for healthspan technologies and therapies.

As part of its initial rollout, the DLA is introducing a controlled regulatory environment to allow vetted life sciences firms and technology innovators to test novel health solutions under direct regulatory oversight prior to commercial expansion. The authority will also coordinate with federal and local departments on investment facilitation, intellectual property governance, and infrastructure development to support targets under the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
