The Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) has imposed a financial penalty of $210,000 (Dh771,330) on former executive Gary Joseph Peters. According to the regulator, Peters provided false, deceptive, and misleading information during official inquiries.

Peters was also cited by the authority for failing to produce requested statutory records and qualification documents. The regulator noted that he served as Chief Operating Officer and managing partner at an authorised financial firm in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) between November 2020 and June 2022.

Regulatory findings showed that Peters had previously been convicted of and pleaded guilty to three separate fraud and criminal offences in another jurisdiction. As a result, the DFSA issued an order prohibiting him from holding office, being employed by any DFSA-regulated entity, or conducting any financial services activities in or from the DIFC.
