Chinese Fuel Exporters Halt Shipments Amid Persian Gulf Refined Product Reductions

Chinese fuel exporters have cancelled planned October shipments of diesel and gasoline to safeguard domestic inventories. The export halts follow reduced refined product flows from the Persian Gulf caused by refinery outages and shipping constraints. Supply deficits along Asia-Gulf trade routes were further compounded by an extension of Russian diesel export restrictions.

Global markets for refined energy products tightened after Chinese fuel exporters cancelled planned October shipments of diesel and gasoline to protect domestic inventories, according to ITP Media Group.

The export halts followed marked reductions in refined product flows originating from the Persian Gulf, where refinery outages and maritime transport constraints crimped output. While crude oil shipments from Gulf producers returned closer to baseline levels, regional supplies of transport fuels, including jet fuel and diesel, remained constrained.

Asian trading margins and fuel crack spreads widened noticeably due to the sudden drop in Chinese export volumes. Additionally, Russia extended its diesel export restrictions through the end of October, deepening supply deficits across trading links connecting Asian refiners with Gulf distributors.
