China Asset Management (Hong Kong) Limited (ChinaAMC HK) and Qatar-based Lesha Bank LLC (Public) executed a Memorandum of Understanding on October 14, 2026, to strengthen cross-border investment and capital market ties between China and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
Under the partnership, the institutions are establishing a Shari'a-compliant All-China active equity fund designed for institutional and high-net-worth investors in the Middle East. The fund will invest across Chinese A-shares, H-shares, and internationally listed Chinese equities, targeting sectors such as artificial intelligence, advanced manufacturing, innovative pharmaceuticals, and renewable energy.
Lesha Bank, authorized by the Qatar Financial Centre Regulatory Authority (QFCRA), will serve as the investment manager handling regional deployment and structuring. ChinaAMC (HK) will act as sub-investment manager responsible for investment decisions and liquidity management. This collaboration marks ChinaAMC (HK)'s first strategic partnership with an Islamic investment bank in the GCC.
According to executives from both firms, the vehicle is structured within Lesha Bank's Asset Management vertical to offer Middle Eastern investors access to China's growth sectors and quality productive forces while expanding global portfolio diversification.
