Beijing-headquartered investment bank and publicly listed brokerage China Securities has opened its regional office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), according to Zawya and the DIFC Authority. The firm secured an operating licence from the DIFC Authority and received regulatory authorisation from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).
The Dubai office will serve as a regional operating hub to expand the group's engagement with clients, investors, and financial institutions across the Middle East. The DIFC stated that the establishment follows sustained dialogue between the centre and China Securities to support the firm's international expansion and enhance connectivity between Chinese, UAE, and global capital markets.
China Securities provides financial services spanning equity and debt capital markets, investment banking, asset management, and institutional services. Its arrival adds to an expanding base of Chinese financial institutions in Dubai, which includes Bank of China, China Construction Bank, and China International Capital Corporation Limited.
According to data from DIFC, China's five largest banks collectively hold more than 30 percent of the total assets in the financial centre's banking and capital markets sector.
