China Power Construction Signs EPC Contract for 2,400 MW Saudi Power Plant

China Power Construction has signed an EPC contract in Riyadh for the Rabigh Phase II gas combined cycle power plant in Saudi Arabia. The facility will have a planned capacity of 2,400 MW. The contract encompasses design, procurement, civil installation, grid connection, and testing.

China Power Construction signed an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contract in Riyadh for the Rabigh Phase II gas combined cycle power plant project in Saudi Arabia, according to Seetao.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives from project developer ACWA Power, the Saudi Energy Company joint development unit, Saudi HAACO Industrial Division, and Egypt-based Elsewedy Electric.

Located in Rabigh, the power plant features a planned total installed capacity of 2,400 MW, positioning it among the largest combined-cycle power facilities in the region.

The contract scope covers the full construction cycle, including design, procurement, civil installation, grid connection, and testing. The facility is intended to bolster national grid reliability and meet rising local power demand generated by industrial development.
