Chinese automaker Chery Auto announced that it will showcase its purpose-built, factory-integrated Level 4 (L4) Robotaxi and sign a strategic cooperation agreement with UAE-based entity K2, according to a company announcement published via GlobeNewswire and The Manila Times. The event will take place at the 2026 Chery International User Summit, scheduled for October 19–23 in Wuhu, China, under the theme "ECO-TECH FOR OUR FUTURE LIFE", which is expected to gather more than 2,000 vehicle owners, journalists, and ecosystem partners.

The planned agreement with K2 marks an initial step toward international commercial deployment of the Robotaxi, which was previously presented in April. According to Chery, the partnership is intended to support the company's efforts to deploy its factory-integrated driverless vehicles into commercial service overseas.

Chery stated that the vehicle has been engineered around L4 driverless operations from inception based on five design principles: Native Architecture, Native Factory Integration, Native Experience, Native Operations, and Native Global Adaptability. It incorporates an automotive-grade, six-part safety management framework covering full-cabin passenger protection, four-dimensional sensing (tactile, visual, acoustic, and wave-based), algorithm training, six-fold redundant execution safety, cloud-based behavioral safety monitoring, and fleet management.

At the summit's demonstration area, Chery plans to present a full driverless passenger workflow, including app-based booking, cloud dispatch, remote cabin temperature control, and automated door and trunk unlocking without an onboard driver. The platform is designed for an autonomous operating cycle encompassing vehicle deployment, repositioning, energy replenishment, self-service cleaning, and inspections to lower fleet maintenance costs.
