The 1.5-gigawatt Abu Dhabi PV3 Al Ajban solar power project in northeastern Abu Dhabi has reached the final stages of construction and is nearing commercial grid connection, according to a report published by China Daily.
Engineering, procurement, and construction delivery of the plant was led by Huadong Engineering, a subsidiary of Power Construction Corporation of China. The installation covers a 20-square-kilometer footprint in the desert and integrated Chinese-made automated installation robots during assembly.
Once operational, the complex is scheduled to generate 4.4 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year, supplying power to roughly 160,000 households and cutting annual carbon emissions by approximately 2.4 million metric tons.
