The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) announced its inaugural mission to China from 21 to 30 September 2026, aimed at opening new avenues for collaboration across health and life sciences. Led by DoH Undersecretary H.E. Dr. Noura Khamis Al Ghaithi, the delegation is visiting Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing to link China’s scientific research, technology, and manufacturing capabilities with Abu Dhabi’s healthcare ecosystem and regulatory framework.
The delegation brings together several Abu Dhabi entities, including Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, PureHealth, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence (MBZUAI), and L’IMAD. Throughout the visit, delegates are engaging with Chinese government bodies, healthcare institutions, universities, and innovators.
Discussions focus on four core priority tracks: robotics, medical technology, and artificial intelligence; precision oncology and advanced diagnostics; drug development and clinical trials; and regulatory excellence and traditional medicine. According to DoH, talks center on research collaboration, clinical trials, and technology transfer.
Additionally, the delegation extended invitations to Chinese healthcare and life sciences executives to attend the Abu Dhabi Future Health Summit 2026, scheduled to take place from 20 to 22 October 2026.
