The number of registered new-economy companies in the UAE grew by approximately 37% year-on-year to reach nearly 125,000 by mid-2026, UAE Economy and Tourism Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri announced on October 7.
Disclosed during the Investopia Bridge 2026 forum in Abu Dhabi, this expansion is concentrated in artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure, renewable technology, and logistics. Minister bin Touq also stated that the UAE's cumulative outward foreign direct investment reached $402.7 billion in 2025, including more than $110 billion deployed into Africa between 2019 and 2023, trailing only the United States, China, and the European Union.
The Ministry of Economy and Tourism underscored that AI-driven industrial productivity is playing a critical role in scaling cross-border logistics and manufacturing ventures alongside primary global trade partners, including China.
