ADGM Managed Assets Surge 54 Percent as Entity AI Investment Tops $100 Billion

Abu Dhabi Global Market confirmed a 54 percent growth in assets managed by free zone firms over the past 12 months. Entity investments in artificial intelligence surpassed $100 billion, driven primarily by tech investment firm MGX. Abu Dhabi also rose to 13th globally in the Global Financial Centers Index published by Z/Yen and China's CDI.

Assets managed by firms based in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM) expanded by 54 percent over the past 12 months, according to an update reported by Global SWF. The financial free zone registered an increase of US$ 2.1 trillion in assets under management over the past six months, indicating a total of approximately US$ 10 trillion managed across 190 resident fund and asset managers.

During the first nine months of 2026, ADGM registered 84 new entities, tracking toward a projected 112 registrations by the close of the year. The total workforce across Al Maryah Island and Al Reem Island reached 49,027 professionals, reflecting a 34 percent year-on-year increase.

Direct artificial intelligence investment by ADGM entities exceeded US$ 100 billion, anchored largely by technology investment company MGX. Alongside this capital influx, Abu Dhabi climbed to 13th place globally in the September 2026 Global Financial Centers Index, jointly published by Z/Yen and China Development Institute (CDI), rising from 21st position in 2025.

Global SWF also noted that Abu Dhabi's major sovereign wealth funds—including ADIA, Mubadala, and L'IMAD—alongside quasi-SWFs and Royal Family Offices, manage an estimated combined capital pool exceeding US$ 2.8 trillion, having deployed US$ 61 billion across 117 transactions in the first three quarters of 2026.
