Scopely South East Asia, an operating unit of Savvy Games Group owned by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF), has completed an equity investment in Shanghai Baokela Network Technology Co., according to 36Kr.
The transaction creates a direct corporate link with Tencent, which originally held a 20% founding stake in Baokela. The Chinese development firm was founded by senior game producer Chen Min, who is known for developing major mobile titles across Asian markets.
The investment represents the third strategic transaction by the Saudi-backed publisher in China's digital entertainment and software development sector. The partnership plans to publish Baokela's titles internationally via Scopely's global distribution networks.
