The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has launched its inaugural health and life sciences mission to China, scheduled from September 21 to 30, 2026. The visiting delegation is touring Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Beijing to pursue commercial and scientific collaborations.

Key areas of focus during the trip include artificial intelligence, medical robotics, precision oncology, and new drug development. The delegation comprises representatives from Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi, PureHealth, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), and Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

According to reports, delegation members are holding meetings with Chinese governmental authorities, research universities, and biotechnology companies. The talks focus on establishing clinical trials and joint research agreements.

The mission is structured to develop channels that accelerate the translation of Chinese medical technologies and therapeutics into the UAE healthcare market.
