Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah), addressed the emirate's ongoing economic development priorities, focusing on foreign direct investment (FDI), artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, and industrial diversification, Gulf Business reported.

Sharjah secured 142 foreign direct investment projects in 2025 valued at AED 7.74 billion ($2.1 billion), resulting in 5,673 new jobs. Around 75 percent of those projects have reached operational status, according to figures released by Invest in Sharjah. Key capital source markets include India, Italy, the United Kingdom, and the United States, alongside regional partners.

Al Musharrkh emphasized that the investment office prioritizes "quality investment," defined by long-term developmental impact, domestic capacity building, and supply-chain resilience rather than purely transactional capital volume. Priority sectors targeted for upcoming FDI inflows include AI and advanced digital technologies, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, food security, and logistics.

Invest in Sharjah is also expanding outreach across Asian markets, building on sustained bilateral engagements with key international trade partners. The emirate is also preparing to host the ninth Sharjah Investment Forum (SIF 2026) on October 14–15 under the theme “Building Adaptive Economies” in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Investment.
