Dubai Municipality Hosts First Construction Legathon and Partners with Sandbox Dubai

Dubai Municipality held its inaugural Future of Construction Legathon on 24 September at Emirates Towers in Dubai, as reported by MEP Middle East. The event gathered government entities, industry stakeholders, innovators, and specialists to examine regulatory and legislative challenges arising from emerging construction technologies.

Alongside the event, Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Future Foundation entered into a cooperation agreement to accelerate innovation through regulatory experimentation under Sandbox Dubai. The arrangement establishes a framework for testing new construction technologies, products, and business models in Dubai.

Under the agreement, the two entities will initially focus on the Smart Built Environment sandbox group, with scope to expand into other sectors in the future. Dubai Municipality and the Dubai Future Foundation will jointly design and execute experimental use cases, defining objectives, success indicators, and evaluation criteria to keep regulatory oversight aligned with technological advancements in construction.
