Power Construction Corporation of China (PowerChina) is concluding engineering, procurement, and construction works on the 1.5-gigawatt Abu Dhabi PV3 Al Ajban solar project, according to Xinhua News Agency. Spanning approximately 20 square kilometers in northeastern Abu Dhabi, the development represents PowerChina's first utility-scale solar plant in the emirate.

PowerChina subsidiary Huadong Engineering Corporation Limited deployed automated Chinese-made photovoltaic installation robots to assemble the solar arrays across the site.

Once operational and connected to the grid, the facility is projected to produce 4.4 billion kilowatt-hours of clean electricity per year. The output is expected to power around 160,000 households and eliminate approximately 2.4 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually in alignment with the UAE's net-zero 2050 targets.
