The United Arab Emirates and China held the third round of consular consultations in Abu Dhabi on November 5, 2026, to review and strengthen bilateral cooperation, according to the Emirates News Agency. The UAE delegation was led by Sheikha Hissa bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, while the Chinese delegation was headed by Long Zhou, Director-General of Consular Affairs at China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Discussions focused on the economic and commercial benefits of mutual visa exemptions, which have enabled reciprocal trade delegations, investment missions, and tourism. Both sides assessed institutional coordination across government entities to further facilitate commercial travel and cross-border mobility. Sheikha Hissa reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to advancing the bilateral comprehensive strategic partnership through reciprocal visits and expanded trade support.

Separately, during the ADIPEC 2026 exhibition in Abu Dhabi, UAE-based NMDC Group signed a long-term cooperation framework with the China Chamber of Commerce for the Petroleum Industry (CCCPI). The agreement aims to explore bilateral opportunities in supply chains, fabrication, and energy infrastructure.

NMDC Group also signed four additional agreements at the event with partners including Teledyne Marine, SITECH Gulf UAE, Tekmar, e& UAE, and Borouge International to develop marine survey technologies, local subsea asset manufacturing, and digital infrastructure.
